Evening at the Embassy

Recently I was honoured to represent ELZOMI Consulting Limited at the Zambia High Commission in London at a private networking reception hosted by Zambia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency, Macenje Mazoka, and the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Zambia is a fascinating country and having a client there already, it came as no surprise to learn of the wealth of opportunity this incredible country has to offer. My favourite comment of the night was from the High Commissioner herself, who noted that Zambia is not land-locked, but land-LINKED, and can thus operate as a gateway to many other regions in Africa and beyond.

Zambia is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Sovereign debt restructuring and stable government were recognised in a recent positive outlook from Moody's Ratings, all making this a super interesting country.

The event also included His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for Africa, John Humphrey, who gave some amazing insight into the support available from the UK Department for Business and Trade, along with leaders from Zambian government and business.ELZOMI Consulting Limited and I are already heading to South Africa later this year, but having been invited to the Invest in Zambia International Conference (IZIC) on 16-18 July 2025, there will likely be a detour to Lusaka on the cards, too!
